Check the soil!

Soil is the key to a healthy, water-efficient lawn. Unfortunately, the soil in our region is typically poor quality, either compacted clay or coarse sand, high in pH and low in organic matter. If you take a few simple steps now as you begin your planning, you'll ensure your result will be lush, luxurious and durable.

Runoff and non-point source pollution of our water is becoming an international problem. Irrigating your landscape multiple times with short duration helps prevent runoff and pollution of our water supply.

If you have reason to believe that your soil may need amending, it may be a wise decision to get a soil analysis. We recommend contacting the following companies:
