Moisten soil. Dry soil will draw water from the sod like a sponge!
Stagger each sod section similar to the method used in laying bricks.
Butt each peice snugly and avoid overlapping the joints.
For slopes, run sod sections lengthwise up and down the grade.
Trim sod with a sod knife, cutting from back (soil) side.
Lawns have been characterized as high water users. In fact, scientific studies right here in our own state have found that mature trees and shrubs we use in our landscapes may consume more water than a lawn of equal canopy area.
For summer installations, hand water the freshly laid sod every 300 square feet.
Check for evenness. Lift slab to add or remove any extra soil.
