Consulting Services
Our consultants will schedule an on-site inspection that will include equipment, irrigation and soil analysis. We will follow up with a written site evaluation outlining our recommendations and including a list of suggested materials.
Large Project Sod Installation
Western Turf has the equipment and crew to install big rolls, however, we limit this service to large jobs preferably bid by a Landscape Contractor. Western Turf is the only local grower that holds a State of Nevada Landscape Contractors License, but we don't want to compete with our contractor customers, so we offer them our services directly.
Sod Removal and Renovation
Western Turf has the equipment to remove old or worn turf areas that can be immediately replaced with new sod with little or no prep work required in some cases. This has saved the end users considerable time and money.
Aeration of Large Turf Area
Western Turf uses John Deere 2000-power aerator which makes a six-foot pass and is equipped with 3/4 inch tines, pulling up to 4-inch core plugs to ensure deep aeration.
Fertility and Nutrient Recommendations
These recommendations will result from a site survey, review of maintenance performance and soil analysis. Some customers find it useful in their annual maintenance program. The results and recommendations are comprehensive and similar to those given in the Soil and Vegetation Analysis.
De-thatching and Core Aeration
Once again these services are a result of a site survey where it is determined that these operations will be useful to promote higher quality turf and more efficient water and nutrient applications. Specialized high capacity equipment has been added to our turf management program.
Top Dressing: Using Gypsum, Lime and or Sand to amend the soil of existing grass.
Site Evaluation and Planning Assistance
If you have design questions about the applicability, the practicality and the choice of turf for your project we will be happy to assist you and offer our recommendations.
Soil and Vegetation Analysis
Complete analysis of the site is made to give recommendations for remediation of poor soil, weeds and other contributing factors that could have an adverse affect on the long-term viability of the landscape area.
Soil Amendment Recommendations
These, of course, would be dependent on the results of a comprehensive soil analysis. A complete recommendation showing deficiencies and methods of correcting these would be presented for the site and would include nutrient and mechanical requirements.
