About Western Turf

Western Turf is owned by the Fahnestock family. It is a four-generation, family owned and operated sod farm located in beautiful Palomino Valley, just minutes north of downtown Reno and Sparks. We have served the Northern Nevada, Lake Tahoe/ Truckee and Susanville area since 1978 with the highest quality products most suitable for this area because they are grown right here.

Only the highest quality seeds are carefully selected with the assistance of local and regional horticultural experts, are used in our plantings. We incorporate state-of-the-art and proven cultural practices in raising our products. Your Western Turf products can be delivered by our own fleet of trucks and forklifts, or you can save delivery charges by picking them up.

Our products are specified for use by local architects, planning firms and civil agencies and have been used in numerous award-winning landscapes. We have also been featured in many trade journals.
